Charlotte + Kristofer 6.19.10 – Personal pics :-)

Friday, July 9th, 2010

Hi everyone!

I had the pleasure of planning this lovely couple’s yacht wedding.  That’s right Yacht wedding!  It was my very first time planning a wedding on a boat.  I must say it was fun!  The boat, the water, the yacht lifestyle…aahhhh I could really get used to that! Ahhh…yacht, lavish living…uh?  oh sorry drifted away for a bit! ;-)

Anyway, Charlotte & Kristofer were such a gorgeous and wonderfully sweet couple.  They both love to fish and what better place to have a wedding?  So you can say that the theme of this event was based on water, boat, & fish.

I enjoyed planning this unique and wonderful wedding with Charlotte.  She knew what she wanted and had fun & youthful tastes.

Here are a few pics from the wedding.  These are personal pictures..LOL…a bit fuzzy, a bit fun, uniquely me! Haha!

Enjoy!

Happy Planning!

Hi Everyone!
While I am waiting for the fabulous pics from the photographer I’ve decided to go ahead and blog about this wedding. Please be advise (time and time again..LOL) I am not a good photographer!

I recently did a beautiful wedding of Yanh & Travis. They are such a cute & bubbly couple.  Yanh was so sweet & fun to be with and her fiance Travis was always by her side planning it along with her.  I love it when fiances are involved.

This was a day of coordinating event so many of her vendors were already selected. All her vendors where wonderful to work with!  Take a look at the cake!  9 layers!!

Reception was held at Ocean Palace Restaurant in Houston,TX…OK I have to send a shout out to them..IF YOU LOVE CHINESE/VIETNAMESE food…you LOVE LOVE THEM!! OH my the food was some of the best food at a wedding. It was delish!

Here are a few of pics I took of the wedding. Enjoy!
Happy Planning!

Glenda + George 1.9.10

Friday, March 5th, 2010

So here’s the story on Glenda.  I did a wedding last year in March at the Magnolia hotel in Downtown Houston.  I parked my car on the outskirts of the hotel.  Now, if anyone of you know me by now, you’ll know that I have my SUV with stickers on my car of my company name.  It’s the Events by Audrey mobile! :-)   As I get out of my car, a young lady comes up to me as ask me about my services.  She said that she thinks she might get engaged in a few months and may need a wedding planner.  We chat for a bit, I give her my card and go off my merry way to my wedding.

A few months had passed when I get a call from Glenda.  She reminded of how we met and informed me that she was getting married & that she never forgot me or lost my card.  I was soooo happy and was unexpected!

To my luck Glenda became such a wonderful & easy going bride.  I had such joy in planning this wedding.  She knew what she liked & knew what she was looking for so planning this wedding was extremely enjoyable.

Her fiance, now husband, George was the sweetest and probably one of the funniest grooms.  He always made us laugh.  I KNEW when I met them that they were perfect for each other.  Good times!

So, without further a do I give you the pictures of their wedding graciously provided by Dahlia Photo.   Dahlia Photo did an absolutely amazing job!  They are both worked as photojournalists for the Houston Chronicle so it’s only natural that their pictures showcase that talent.  Thanks again to Dahlia Photo.

They wanted to incorprate the Latin side to their wedding as it seemed perfect for them since Glenda & George met in a Salsa class!  Yes that’s right!  They met in a  salsa class!

Video to come shortly!  So stay tuned!  Thanks again Dahlia Photo!

The Knot event – 8/29/09

Friday, August 28th, 2009

YesteCake Balls Reciperday I had the pleasure of attending The Knot event at the House of Blues in Houston,TX.  It was a fabulous affair with delectible New Orleans style food and theme.  From spicy grilled shrimp to Cafe du Monde coffee and beignets, it was certainly a treat!  Not be mention the yummy cake truffles provided by Cakes by Gina and of course the umm..hard part was having to taste them.  And I have to say they were wonderful!
:-)

I have to mention the facility!  This is a wonderful place to have that Ultra rock n’roll wedding!  It’s an absolutely gorgeous facility located in the heart of Downtown Houston.  It was the House of Blues!  It can hold upwards of 500 people and it’s foundation room is a swanky Indian inspired lounge where your guest can chill like a rock star!

From what I think was at least 300 people at this event it was nice to mix and mingle with some of the best vendors that Houston has to offer.  From Photographers to DJs everyone was out there to make one statement…the wedding business in Houston is booming!  And honestly my dear readers, Houston’s got some AMAZING wedding vendors!

Caterer- Drop in VS. Full Service

Thursday, May 28th, 2009

When looking for a caterer for your wedding it’s always important to find the best one that fits your budget, taste amazing, and will provide the best service available.

With that in mind, would definitely suggest rather recommend that you select a full service caterer for your next event.

Let’s look at both sides:
Drop In Caterer:

  • They just drop the food and leave.
  • They don’t have linens, chafers, or utensils available which means you would have to rent.
  • You would have to rent everything from silverware, plates, chafers, linens, staffing, decorations..etc.
  • They do not clean up.

Full Service Caterer:

  • They provide you with staffing to serve the food, set up, clean up, and run the bar.
  • They offer a larger variety of items for you to use such as linens and silverware.
  • You have a on-site captain to oversee the entire event to ensure proper service.
  • Cake cutting is included with most caterers.

So for about the same price or just a tad bit more you will find that hiring a full service caterer will save you from all the headaches of hiring staff, setting up, or cleaning up your own wedding. Do you really want to be throwing away trash in your gorgeous wedding dress? Or any of your guests for that matter?

So my vote of course is for the full service caterer!

Gelato Anyone?

Sunday, May 3rd, 2009

I am coordinating a wedding coming up in May and they have decided to do a Gelato Station! Yes that’s right folks, you to can rent your very own Gelato station and amaze your friends! At roughly $3-$4 per person, not including staffing, you can have a variety of flavors such as Chocolate Mint, Vanilla, Strawberry, Espresso Chocolate and so much more! Yumm!! You can even select flavors that match your wedding such as Pistachio and Chocolate to match your Green & Chocolate colors. It adds a nice & tasty treat for the guests to enjoy after the cake. Asian Wedding party favors

Tuesday, March 31st, 2009

Looking for that special party favor? Do you have an Asian theme or do you just like that clean look with the clean lines that it provides? I recently stumbled upon 2 websites that I found to be very interesting. They offer a variety of party favors of different themes and color schemes. And what’s nice about these sites is that they are very trendy and not cheesy.
Check these 2 out:
