Shirley + Jordan 9.24.11

Thursday, January 5th, 2012

Hi Everyone!
Hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday season and a Happy New Year! I have had a wonderful year of weddings! All different, all interesting! I am been so blessed with my clients!

This time I introduce to you Shirley & Jordan. They were really a very cute couple who where very proud of their culture & definitely wanted to incorporate their Heritage in the music and in the dancing. Not to mention the groom is an Aggie of course! ;) The Aggie fight song just had to be played!

So with the help of DJ Darilek they coordinated the perfect Polka for the day! Throwing in some hard core rock n’ roll, a little bit of country, & lots of Polka dancing made if for a fun filled night full of hard core dancing.

Shirley also wanted to incorporate Jordan’s love of John Deere so his groom’s cake was of the John Deer logo, guests brought John Deere gifts & her exit was green & yellow rose petals.

It was a very fun wedding and all the guests had a blast! Here are a few personal pics of the wedding. Sorry they aren’t the best looking pics! Hee hee….

Enjoy!

Sincerely,
Audrey Hu-Gonzalez

Sheila + Rogelio 10.15.11

Thursday, December 1st, 2011

Hello readers!

Sheila & Rogelio are a wonderfully sweet couple.  She a nurse and him a fireman!  What a great combination!

So when I got the call to meet them I was really excited to be working with them!  They loved each other so much and were always laughing!  I enjoyed planning this wedding with them.

They are very big into family.  Family is very very  important in their lives & they wanted to respect them as well as incorporate each others cultures.  It can always be a challenge incorporating the two cultures but it can also be amazing & beautiful!  Fusion is the way to go! :-)

So with that in mind they had an authentic Asian Tea ceremony in the morning that is very prevalent in Chinese & Vietnamese cultures and later in the afternoon a very lovely Catholic wedding ceremony.  The danced the night away while enjoying delicious food from Kim Son & dancing hot Latin music throughout the night provided by LG Entertainers.

TechAve did was a wonderful job of draping and decorating the room leaving the Good luck symbols of the Dragon & Phoenix which is very important in many Asian cultures.

Their intro speech was in Vietnamese, Chinese, Spanish, & English!  Some of their menus were also in all 4 languages too.  I loved it!  And in every moment in the wedding all you see is love, laughter, & double happiness! ;-)

So here are a few lovely pictures from Khloe Madison Photography.  They did such a beautiful job on the wedding and the work speaks for itself!  Enjoy!

Shirley + Neerav 5.21.11

Hello Happy readers!

I am really excited to blog about Shirley & Neerav’s wedding.  This wedding was just beautiful!   Shirley & Neerav were such a gorgeous couple!  Every time Shirley entered the room everyone lit up.  Her smile & her laughter was pure!  Neerav was always making Shirley laugh.  There was never a dull moment with them.  You could sooooo see the love between this beautiful couple.

This wedding was a multicultural event.  Both Shirley & Neerav wanted to incoporate both their Indian and Mexican heritage into the wedding, so they had both a traditional Hindu ceremony followed by a beautiful Christian ceremony officiated by none other that Minister Lynn Turner with Weddings Performed.  It was two very beautiful ceremonies!

Shirley & Neerav had decided food was a key factor in their wedding.  They wanted to provide their guests with an amazing fusion on Indian & Mexican.  And the Hotel Derek & Bombay Brasserie did not fail in this task.  Bombay Brasserie provided an amazing array of Indian food throughout the day and for dinner & ended the night with hearty breakfast tacos with spicy salsa from the Hotel Derek.

Guests danced the night away with full color & fantastic tunes by DJ Yogi – G.  From Bhangra to Salsa to Hip Hop, he DID not fail to please the guests!  He made everyone kick up a notch with all their dancing!

I loved their wedding!  Their wedding matched the couple’s personalities.  Fun, Vibrant, Happy, Joyful, Beautiful, & Ultra modern!  Congratulations to Shirley & Neerav!

Here are some AMAZING pictures from Jesus Tirso with Decca Photography.  He was fun and energetic to work with!

The reception was held at the Omni Hotel Riverway where the lovely Teresa Westburry executed an excellant event.  Brooke’s colors were purple & a very deep & very rich Red.  Red being her favorite color!

Cesar, with LG Entertainers had the guests dancing the night away!  Here are a few personal pictures of the evening.  Enjoy!

Liz + Adam 10.16.10

Hi Everyone!

Phew!  I’ve had a busy month and lot’s to blog about!  I’ve been waiting for an opportunity to blog about this wedding.

So a little background on Liz & Adam, they were referred to me by former clients, Julie & Chris, and when the mother of the bride & Liz met me they already heard wonderful things about me.  So I must say that the biggest compliment is to receive referrals from past clients. : -)

Liz & Adam decided to get married at the very beautiful St. Vincent’s Catholic Church followed by a reception at the Magnolia Ballroom where beats of yesteryear & hits of today were played well by our wonderful DJ Fransisco Perez of Elegante Entertainment.  Flowers by Lisa with Petals by Design.

There is one person I just NEED to mention.  Her grandmother!  She’s the one dancing in one of the pics.  She was sooo sweet and funny!  I just loved her!  She comes up to me and asks me, “So how do I look for an 85 year old?  Pretty good don’t ya think?  I still got it goin’ on!” :-)   I can only hope that I would be that awesome at her age!

Here are some amazing photos taken by Niki with Photography by Niki.  I must say she and her assistant where so much fun to work with!  They were attentive and made my job fun!  Thanks again Niki!

Sweet Footie! Comfortable Footies for your guests!

Wednesday, November 11th, 2009

Hello my friends!  It has been a very long time since I’ve been blogging!

I recently had a wedding (Jessica & Jonathan) that had an absolutely wonderful and ingenious idea!

Ladies, and men :-) , have you ever gone to a wedding were the music is great? The party is happenin’ and you just want to dance the night away?  Only to find yourself after one hour of dancing that you feet gave out?  That they don’t want anything to do with you?

Well have I a solution for you! LOL, I sound like a infomercial!  I’ve recently discoved a clever idea to save those painful feet from pain and suffering…Are you ready for this?

Lightweight Nylon-Pima Cotton Footies!

These are simple Nylon Footies that can be offered to the guests so that they have have comfy feet at your wedding.  What Jessica, my bride, did is that she had bowl of chocolate brown footies (to match her wedding) next to the DJ with a sign reading:

“When your feet are falling apart…Put these on for a fresh new start! ”

What a wonderful idea!  That way your guests can take off their shoes without fear of getting them dirty, running their pantyhose, or worried about getting splinters on their feet!

This is just a wonderful gesture to show that you care for them and that you want them to enjoy your wedding instead of crying over “spilled feet!”

Here is a website that sells the little “heavenly” footies!

Wonderful websites that help create that one-of-kind weddings

Wednesday, September 2nd, 2009

Last night I got a call from a future bride of mine.  She wants that gorgeous Miami Night Club theme but wanted to find ways to make it work without breaking the budget.  We spoke about centerpieces, linens, decorations, & napkin rings.  In the process of all of this I discovered some unusual and very different websites that give amazing ideas to be creative and personalize your wedding that won’t cost you an arm & a leg to create it.

Here are some sites that I sent over to her and to some of my other clients:

http://www.shopwildthings.com/

http://www.save-on-crafts.com/

And for the kid you try this website.  The price point is better and can serve to purchase simple items that you may need for the wedding.
