Rik + Ritu {Happily Married!}
Hello Happy Readers! When I blog about previous weddings I always remember the fun times I had with each of my couple. The funny moments, the loving moments, and those special moments. Rik & Ritu were some of the most amazing people I had the pleasure to work with. Not only was the couple amazing but Ritu's parents were so unbelievably sweet! They made me laugh and smile and cry! Yes I cried! They were so happy to see their daughter married!
Rik & Ritu had their joyous occasion at the Sheraton Brookhollow. They had their Garba, Hindu ceremony, & reception all in one place. It was a beautifully designed by Prashe. They did a beautiful job! Another beautiful item that was incorporated into the wedding from Telegu which is where the groom is from is a beautiful display of florals in the shape of a peacock that the Mother of the groom painstakingly made. It was certainly gorgeous!
In order to incorporate vegetarian cuisine they hired the Swami Temple located in Stafford, TX to focus on delicious vegetarian food and Bombay Brasserie to focus on the non-vegetarian.
They danced the night away with amazing tunes by DJ AV. Want to see more? Check out the images below! All but one image was photographed by Edge Photo & Video.
moreMary + Karl {Happily Married!}
Hello Happy Readers!
Whenever I think if TRUE fusion wedding I will always and forever think of Mary & Karl! This wedding was a fusion of several different cultures. All amazing! I love when couples incorporate their cultures into their weddings. It makes them unique, special, and amazing!
Mary comes from a Cambodian/Chinese background so the ceremony followed Asian traditions very closely. Her fiancé Karl was happy to perform the traditional ceremonial duties! :) I think Mary had by far the most dress changes from all my clients. Many styles from traditional Cambodian (2!) to then a beautiful white wedding dress and then into a traditional and beautiful Indian Saree!
Karl comes from and Indian/Persian background so Mary incorporated his culture into the fashion and music. DJ Scoop played fresh music from across the globe! From Top 40, Bollywood, Bhangra, Hip Hop, and Latin! Everyone had so much fun! :)
Mary also incorporated a Cambodian band playing tunes at the beginning of the event with DJ Scoop finishing up at the end.
They both loved bling! Especially Mary! The blingier the better! The tallest the better! She loved sparkle and candy. She created a lovely candy buffet with all sorts of goodies from Kit Kat, Lollipops, & cake pops!
moreRiya + Jerin (Happily Married!}
Riya & Jerin had a beautiful Hindu/Catholic ceremony. She was such a beautiful bride and such a pleasure to work with! In the morning they had the Baraat filled with all their close friends and family members. They offered tantalizing Indian sweet & snacks along with Lassi and Chai. Afterwards they headed towards the Catholic church for a beautiful mass. The whole reception was truly a lot of fun with a mix of Vegetarian food from the Swami temple in Stafford and non-vegetarian dishes from Bombay Brasserie and the awesome sounds of DJ Jason Thayil with http://indoraja.net keeping the dance floor hoppin! It's been awhile. Did you miss me? :) Today I present to you the lovely wedding of Sayi & Ehis. This wedding is truly historic as they were the LAST couple to have their reception at the original Petroleum Club of Houston located on Bell St. One of the most beautiful venues in Houston! I had the great pleasure of being the last wedding planner to walk through the halls of this beautiful space.
Sayi & Ehis had such a beautiful wedding. The couple were so wonderful to work with! I swear I get the BEST couples on the planet! The beautiful colors coordinated so well with the venue!
This wedding was a mix of Nigerian and Tanzanian cultures. It was so beautiful! Great mix of music and dancing all through the night. As a special treat the Sayi had a luscious Ice Cream bar for her fiancé Ehis.

They decided on a beautiful rustic themed wedding. Focusing on bringing the outside into their wedding. Fusing Chinese and Mexican influences throughout the wedding. I LOVED the idea that the Andy's sister decided to officiate the wedding. I loved the Chinese chopsticks she incorporated into her wedding! Both families were just a hoot to hang around with. moreBeverly + Joe {HAPPILY MARRIED!}
Dear Happy readers!
I have been wanting to blog about this wedding for such a long time! This wedding had all the fixins’ of a fun & family wedding!
Beverly & Joe felt that it was very important to have a beautiful & intimate wedding with close family & friends in a setting that was historic & special at the same time. Her father, who was just the greatest father a bride could have, had previously donated to the park & felt that this was the perfect location to have her event. She wanted to bring in a “Texas Country Chic” theme to the wedding with beautiful flowers that had that “just picked” look & down home BBQ for many of her out of town guests.
Many of her guests were not from Texas, including the couple, so they felt that BBQ was the best representation of what Texas had to offer! So we enlisted George Demeris, with Demeris Catering who delighted guests with home town cookin’ and with pecan pie for dessert!
The venue, was the perfect location for this event! Mixing in historical markers with Houston buildings was the great back drop of fusing the past with the present. The Texas Heritage Society park is a wonderful historical venue.
moreSHEILA + ROGELIO
Hello readers!
Sheila & Rogelio are a wonderfully sweet couple. She a nurse and him a fireman! What a great combination!
So when I got the call to meet them I was really excited to be working with them! They loved each other so much and were always laughing! I enjoyed planning this wedding with them.
They are very big into family. Family is very very important in their lives & they wanted to respect them as well as incorporate each others cultures. It can always be a challenge incorporating the two cultures but it can also be amazing & beautiful! Fusion is the way to go!
So with that in mind they had an authentic Asian Tea ceremony in the morning that is very prevalent in Chinese & Vietnamese cultures and later in the afternoon a very lovely Catholic wedding ceremony. The danced the night away while enjoying delicious food from Kim Son & dancing hot Latin music throughout the night provided by LG Entertainers.
TechAve did was a wonderful job of draping and decorating the room leaving the Good luck symbols of the Dragon & Phoenix which is very important in many Asian cultures.
Their intro speech was in Vietnamese, Chinese, Spanish, & English! Some of their menus were also in all 4 languages too. I loved it! And in every moment in the wedding all you see is love, laughter, & double happiness!
moreANJA + JOE {HAPPILY MARRIED}
Hello happy readers!
I have been looking forward to blogging about this amazing wedding! This wedding was filled with so much love & laughter!
So a little about the couple, Anja was one of those sweet artistic and romantic girls. She loved sweetly & gently which reflected alot in her wedding. She also wanted to incorporate her British heritage by creating an English tea theme into her wedding.
Joe was an absolute sweetheart. He loved Anja so much it was so heart warming everytime I saw them together. He was a tough guy with a soft heart. They were the perfect pair!
I also loved her parents! Fantastically wonderful and so loving parents and her mother always smiling from ear to ear & laughing! Just loved her!
So for the wedding the perfect location for them to have it was at her parent’s most beautiful ranch in Navasota, TX. This place was just simply….. BEAUTIFUL, SERENE, PEACEFUL, QUAINT, & JUST LOVELY!
With it’s rolling hills, beautiful huge trees, & her funny & quirky animals; it was the perfect scene for this outdoor wedding reception. From Llamas to longhorns there was never a boring moment at the ranch!
moreKELLY + KYLE {Happily Married}
Hello Happy readers!
Kelly being a catering manager knew what she liked and what she wanted for her wedding. Family and close friends were extremely important to her & her fiance.
She was extremely detailed-orientated which is nice! I love it when brides know what they like and how to accomplish it. She made sure that every detail was well taken care of.
Flowers were among the most important factors in her wedding. She wanted the guests to be “WOWED” at her wedding. This aspect of her wedding was carefully planned out and Rebekah with Dream Bouquet did not let her down. Her centerpieces were pure beauty and absolutely gorgeous!
Here are a few personal images of the lovely wedding . Ceremony was held at the lovely West U Methodist church in Houston, TX and the reception held at the Ultra modern, super-chicv – Alden Hotel. It was such a blast to work there!

moreSHIRLEY + NEERAV {Happily Married}
Hello Happy readers!
I am really excited to blog about Shirley & Neerav’s wedding. This wedding was just beautiful! Shirley & Neerav were such a gorgeous couple! Every time Shirley entered the room everyone lit up. Her smile & her laughter was pure! Neerav was always making Shirley laugh. There was never a dull moment with them. You could sooooo see the love between this beautiful couple.
This wedding was a multicultural event. Both Shirley & Neerav wanted to incoporate both their Indian and Mexican heritage into the wedding, so they had both a traditional Hindu ceremony followed by a beautiful Christian ceremony officiated by none other that Minister Lynn Turner withWeddings Performed. It was two very beautiful ceremonies!
Shirley & Neerav had decided food was a key factor in their wedding. They wanted to provide their guests with an amazing fusion on Indian & Mexican. And the Hotel Derek & Bombay Brasserie did not fail in this task. Bombay Brasserie provided an amazing array of Indian food throughout the day and for dinner & ended the night with hearty breakfast tacos with spicy salsa from the Hotel Derek.
moreLATRICIA + OKON {Happily Married}
Hello Happy readers!
I love doing weddings! I think I may have told you that already! It’s one of my most favorite & emotional times in a person’s life. It’s such a special day for all those involved that I always feel extra special when I am selected to do the wedding.
That’s what it was like with Latricia & Okon. Latricia knew from the moment she met me that I was going to be her wedding planner. In fact in our first initial meeting, she said, ” I don’t know why you’re bothering trying to sell me, I already decided that I wanted to use you when I first saw your site. Meeting you was just a fomality and I like you so much already!” I LOVE LOVE THAT!!!
Latricia had decided to do her wedding at the lovely Bell Tower on 34th. It is such a lovely venue. She was the type of girl that wanted just the right “bling” in her wedding. Not too much, not too little, juuuuussst right!
I have been blessed with wonderfully organized & sweet brides & Latricia was no exception. She was meticulous in what she wanted and knew exactly how she wanted it. Her thoughts & ideas came to life! The event well extremely well & Jason Garcia with Space City Entertainment did not fail us! With a great mix of Top 40, Hip Hop, & a good mix of Nigerian music, there was not one person that wasn’t satisfied, musically!
moreHEATHER + TRAY {Happily Married}
Hello readers!
I had the distinct pleasure of coordinating this lovely couple’s wedding. When Heather first met me, it was “Love at first sight”. We bonded, we laughed, we truly enjoyed each other’s company. She was sold!
She decided that she needed a planner for her wedding due to her busy schedule as a Doctor & the idea of planning a wedding in Galveston while living in Houston would pose a bit of a challenge for her. She wanted to find the best vendors to work with and new that she didn’t want the hassle of finding them.
Heather & Tray were such a cute couple! Constantly laughing and smiling from ear to ear! You SO see the love between these two love birds that I shed a tear at their ceremony.
They decided to have their wedding at the BEAUTIFUL Historic Hotel Galvez. The day was PERFECT! It was crystal clear skies & the perfect weather. God couldn’t have made it anymore beautiful!
They danced the night away with with fantastic music provided by Jason Garcia with Space City Entertainment.
So take a look at these “Crystal clear” images by the wonderful & amazing, Margaret Lee with Love Lee Photography. Thank you Magaret for doing such a beautiful JOB! Not to mention my amazing vendor team!
moreSOLARI HOSPICE CARE OPEN HOUSE
Hello Everyone!
It’s been awhile! I know! I’ve been so busy with so many weddings, events, & with school letting out for the summer it has been a hectic day for all!
Today I am blogging about an event that is near and dear to my heart. I had the pleasure of coordinating the open House of a brand new gorgeous facility that just opened up in Houston, TX. This facility is the first of it’s kind here and has been a great accomplishment for President & CEO, Gary Polsky of Solari Hospice Hospice Care.
This facility is designed to create a warm and loving enviroment to those in need of hospice care & to the families that surround them. Their motto is “a time for comfort” and it truly holds strongly in the Solari Family. Gary not only created this amazing facility but has also set a a foundation called Solari Hospice Foundation that is designed to assist family and children, not only financially if needed but also emotionally. He is so passionate about assisting the family as a whole that he also created a Camp Solari, which is a bereavement camp for children and their families. This is such a special and amazing camp.
moreTO HAVE OR NOT TO HAVE? NOW, THAT’S A TOUGH QUESTION!
Hello Happy readers!
So, I find that many brides & their mothers deal with a very difficult decision at every wedding. This issue has caused great grief amongst friends & family members. What is it?? To allow children at the wedding or not.
Yes, that’s right folks this can cause alot of stress on your wedding. Having children at the wedding has it’s pros & cons.
Pros: A wedding wouldn’t be a wedding without little children. Right? ; -) They bring joy & happiness to every wedding and for some reason always can keep the party going with their rambucious and happy personalities. They make for the cutest little dance partners and photographers LOVE photographing them! They represent our future!
Cons: But they run around, pull out flowers out of centerpieces, place their cute little fingers on the cake, eat all the party favors with candy, whine, cry, yell, eat on the floor, throw flower petals on the carpet and smush their cute little feet to make pretty little designs on the carpet, or the most popular one; go underneath the buffet table to play “tent” under sternos, chafers, knives, spoons…OH YES!! Note: I have a little one so I know from experience!

moreERIN + MATT
Hello happy readers!
Well, what can I tell you about the OH SO LOVELY Erin & her DASHING husband Matt? That they were fun? That they were always laughing? Always smiling, and hugging, and kissing? That they made me laugh? That they were FULL OF LIFE & fun stories? Yeah, that about sums it up about the two of them.
They are such a truly fun-loving couple and every minute with them was a blast! Her mom, Donna, was just as amazing as Erin was! Even my daughter still talks about her and wishes to see Ms. Donna again!
Erin & Matt had thought long and hard about the color scheme & theme that they were going to do for this wedding. They decided that using the colors of the peacock, PERFECTLY reflected that style, grace, and total goofiness. So with the help of some amazing vendors, they created this sweet & colorful wedding filled with a gorgeous candy buffet, peppermint martinis (YUM!) and luscious colors of linen & flowers by Bill with Floral Events.
At the end of the night instead of bubbles, sparklers…the norm, they decided to do white pom poms! It was more a of “dance off” as they danced their way to the Black Swan at the gorgeous Omni Hotel Riverway to keep the party going!
